Robert Bridges-Ransom Chandler

Ransom is part of our living family memory, and I have had some luck with Drury. But for William's family I know about only four sons and none of his daughters. It irks me mightily to have the women in my family's history left to oblivion, so I'm trying to track down William's daughter who married a Robert Bridges. So far, all I have on Bridges is miscellaneous bits and pieces, but I'll be happy to send you all of my loose information if you think you might be abl-e, to use it. So, if you have any information on a Robert Bridges' marri to a Chandler in MS I would love to know about it. \ Andye$i I also live in Texas, in Austin. e.. Thanks for responding to my inquiry and for any help you can give me. Best wishes, Helen Page 1 of 1 Harvy, I don't yet know about how the Bridges connection occurs. Supposedly, a Robert Bridges in Simpson or Lawrence Co., MS, married a daughter of William Chandler and later was legal guardian of one of William's grand sons (a son of William's son Drury H. Chandler, who was married to Nancy Hickman). William Chandler was living in Simpson Co. and (as you may know) those county records were destroyed by a courthouse fire (I think in 1871). Since all of William's children were long gone from home by 1850, they can't be ,sorted into a family from census records. At any rate, the Robert Bridges I am looking for was still alive and in that part of MS when Drury died in about 1848 and when his probate records were filed in Copiah Co., MS. It is from those probate records that one of my correspondents got the in formation that Robert Bridges was a guardian of one of Drury's sons. I think that was a "de facto" guardianship, since Nancy Hickman was alive, and the children who were still at home came with her to Texas in about 1850 or 1851 (after the 1850 MS census). William Chandler was my 4-great-grandfather; his son Drury was father of Ransom Chandler, my father's great-grandfather and well remembered by him. So, Ransom is part of our living family memory, and I have had some luck with Drury. But for William's family I know about only four sons and none of his daughters.
